Biography of Tracey Tippet, Photographer

Tracey was born April 8, 1960, in Parsons, Kansas. Mr. Tippet was the ninth of eleven children. He began photography about 30 years ago at the age of 13 for his parent's weekly newspaper, The Parsons News.

Tracey moved to New York in 1984 and began working at various photo labs to support himself. At this same time he began his documentary of the underworld, photographing street hustlers, friends, junkies, transvestites and children of New York's lower east side.
